Learning Outside the Box
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on children's education, flattening their dynamic learning experiences into a screen and leaving them with limited opportunities to develop critical skills. With safety being a top priority, it's not feasible to accommodate all students in cramped indoor spaces. Many schools are embracing outdoor learning as a way to limit the spread of the virus, but the challenge is to design a safe, fun, and engaging environment for students to learn. Learning Outside the Box has designed a set of outdoor classroom components that provide a safe learning environment that encourages students to interact with their environment. These activities allow children to develop an understanding of core architectural principles like spatial design, physics, and geometry while providing a healthy and safe space for education.
